Banners

My banners were created in a mannor of translating words into motion and giving the viewer an idea of how colors and strong words combine together to represent a message for the community.

For the first banner, I wanted to showcase how we humans in general act so carelesly when it comes to environmental issues. Basically the phrase “We are living on this planet as if we have another one to go to”, is quite self-explanatory as it can refer to things like people throwing garbage in the streets, not recycling, burning natural environments etc. I split the words in the leaves so that it looks like a drop down effect, fading almost. All of the images and resources used were made in mark making sessions.

For the second banner, I showcase data gathering through with a visual representation of infographics. Basically, translating the numbers from the information into big images so that I can pass the effect of importance through object size. The phrase “By recycling just 1 tonne of paper we can save 17 trees and 400KW of energy, thats enough to power a house for a year. It will also save 380 gallons of oil 7000 gallons of water and around 3 cubic metres of landfill space. It takes around 5 litres of water to make just 1 sheet of A4 paper.

3D Structure

The word PAPER constructed so that the letters can be used as individual sits. For the materials I believe we could use recycled paper stacked in piles and laser cut into the shape of each letter so that it fits in with theme of the whole exhibtion, and also connect with the main logo of the exhibition that is used for the entrance.

Elements

The task given to me was Web Design for the Exhibition. I had minimum experience in the past with web builders so I didn’t know much when we started. The whole process has not only been educational but very fun!
