PaperPaperWhen creating the banners I had the concept of colour in mind, while still using black and white tones I added colour to make certain areas of the banner stand out. I decided
to add the statistic about trees, and the amount it takes to create a certain number of paper sheets, as I believed the imagery that could be used will relate to what we produced in previous assignments throughout the year. I used work from the image library provided. The banners were very interesting to create, using InDesign to create
new fonts. I think that with the addition of the exhibition identity it makes the banner look more authentic and professional, and i am very happy with the final products..
The exhibition element I was assigned to was handling social media. With this we would create an Instagram and a Twitter page. At first the process was slow and we had to plan out each post and have a rough idea what we would post and hashtag to reach the required audience. We also had to keep in mind how we would keep the page active and have a schedule when to post. We thought to include teasers and a countdown for the exhibition, as in research many companies do this to promote their brand/ event to generate ‘hype’ around it. By posting small teasers for example the logo, it will make the public curious as to what the event its, using word of mouth to advertise the event.
The process of using Cinema 4D was tricky, and quite hard to get my head around. It could be quite confusing and slow at times but once I got the hang of the software it was slightly easier to create a design. I decided to create a piece that followed the theme I also included in my banners, trees. I created a tree like a model with a cut in the side, that represented the point an axe would chop it down. In this gap you can see what looks like a ream of paper, I thought that this imagery was very clever as it shows the stages from tree to paper in just two images.
